Why do I even watch the morning news?

Every day I wake up and the price of oil goes up, up, up.

Today's news? $109 a barrel in global trading. Great.

Seriously. It literally depresses me to see that.

When am I going to get paid that well to teach?

At this point, the phrase "first time" has become cliche. Every day it's the same story. The price of gas from here on out will always be "the first time" its been what it is ... or will be ... man, that's an awkward sentence. Anyway, I spent $50 to fill my car yesterday. "First time" I've ever spent that much for a tank of gas.

I remember when I winced over paying $1.59 for a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup. After all, it's just salty water! Then I went next door to fill up and paid $.88 for a gallon of gas (this was obviously several years ago). I thought, "How can this be?" The oil was formed millenia ago and had to be found, dug, and pumped out of the ground, then refined and transported halfway across the world to another hole in the ground, and pumped again into my car -- and it cost half as much as chicken noodle soup!
Do they make hybrids that run on salty water?

LOL - TELL ME ABOUT IT!!! I used to be one - TEACHERS WILL NEVER GET PAID ENOUGH TO DO WHAT THEY DO, and you won't know that and truly understand unless you've been there! Thank you for being a teacher!!!
